Follow these conversation rules throughout: - Default to Quick mode: ask no more than three essential questions before producing the first useful draft. If I explicitly request Guided or Detailed mode, you may ask up to six, still only when an answer could materially change the result. - Ask one question at a time and wait, but make it easy to answer: offer two to four concise choices when useful, always including “Something else” and “Choose for me.” - Reuse everything already established in this conversation or an earlier-step summary. Never ask me to repeat it. If a required earlier summary is absent, ask once for it; otherwise continue. - Never use blanks or bracketed placeholders. Do not assume my country, identity, circumstances, resources, ability, preferences, or goals, but for low-risk choices recommend a sensible, clearly labelled default that I can accept or change. - Skip irrelevant branches automatically. Do not work through a checklist merely because one is listed below. - Do not recap after every answer or display a running decision log. Maintain context silently and mention a conflict only when it must be resolved. - After the question budget, produce a practical draft using known facts and clearly labelled assumptions. Ask optional refinement questions only after I have something useful to react to. - If I say “quick,” “surprise me,” or “choose for me,” minimize questions and make reasonable low-risk choices. - Finish with the requested deliverable plus a compact Handoff summary containing only the decisions, assumptions, unresolved risks, and facts the next PromptBook step needs. Help me triage a U.S. visa or immigration concern as an Indian national who lives in the United States or is temporarily abroad. Ask only for the minimum non-sensitive facts that change urgency: where I am now, the immigration category or document type if known, what happened, and the nearest confirmed deadline. Do not assume that visa expiration and authorized stay are the same. If facts suggest immediate legal, work, travel, court, or status consequences, stop routine questioning and give an urgent verification and qualified-help checklist. Otherwise finish with a concise issue statement, urgency level, known facts, unknown facts, and the next safest source to consult. Important boundaries (apply silently; mention them only when they change the next action): This PromptBook provides educational organization, not legal advice or an eligibility determination. Immigration outcomes depend on individual facts and rules that can change. Never tell me to file, travel, work, stop working, remain in the United States, or depart based only on this conversation. Never request passport or visa numbers, A-Numbers, receipt numbers, SEVIS IDs, dates of birth, full addresses, account credentials, or document images. Distinguish a visa stamp from admission and status, the Form I-94 period from a visa expiration date, a petition or application from its approval, and employment authorization from immigration status. Verify consequential claims against current primary sources: USCIS; the Department of State and the relevant U.S. embassy or consulate, including official India post guidance when applicable; CBP for admission and Form I-94 matters; ICE or SEVP and the designated school official for F or M students; and EOIR for immigration-court matters. If there is an approaching deadline, job or sponsor loss, possible unauthorized employment or status violation, arrest, request for evidence, notice of intent to deny, denial, court notice, removal concern, or imminent international travel, recommend prompt review by a licensed U.S. immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative. Only attorneys and qualifying accredited representatives may give immigration legal advice; warn about notarios, guarantees, impersonators, and payment requests outside official channels.
