Creative Writing Output Checklist

Use this to evaluate AI-generated creative writing (marketing copy, a story, a script, a scene) against its actual purpose, not just whether it reads well. - Does it actually fit the stated brief — audience, tone, length, format — or is it generically well-written but wrong for this specific use? - Is the voice consistent throughout, and does it match the voice you asked for (or an established brand/character voice), rather than drifting into a generic AI tone? - Are there cliches or overused phrasing that would make this feel generic or interchangeable with any other AI output on the same topic? - Does it make any factual claims (about a product, a historical event, a real place) that need to be checked, even inside a creative piece? - If it's meant to persuade or convert (marketing copy), does it actually make a clear, specific case, or does it stay vague and could apply to almost anything? - Does the structure work for its medium — pacing for a script, hook and skimmability for web copy, an actual narrative arc for a story? - Would you be comfortable if this were read aloud, taken out of context, or scrutinized by the audience it's actually for? Read it once for craft and once purely for whether it accomplishes the specific job it was written for — a piece can succeed at one and fail at the other.
